Sunday, July 31, 1988

Up and ready by 10:30am.  Jill Sunday School, Mom church.  Went to Jeremy's around 11am.  Aaron came too.  Jeremy's parents left for S Carolina in truck.  We played D&D X1.  Went home around 1pm to eat grilled burgers, o-rings.  Talked about Dairy Queen.  Went back to Jeremy's.  Bubba there.  Jeremy and Aaron smoked pipes, burned incense.  Called Dairy Queen to quit.  Jo answered.  Asked schedules.  Went home around 4:30pm.  Jeremy picked me up in his Lancer.  Went to Dairy Queen.  Saw schedule.  Jo and Jamie working till 5:30pm.  Went to Tom's, everyone was there.  Told him we were quitting!  (ha)!  Went back to Dairy Queen a little late.  Worked 5:30-10:30pm (close), Jeremy (5:30-10pm (helped)), Brian (5:30-10:30pm (grill close)).  Kinda dead till 7:30pm.  I got half done with my break and had to help up front (Jeremy drive-thru).  From 7:30-9:50pm steady drive-thru and the front was so packed!  Busiest day I've worked.  Had black guy complain about Buster Bar.  Gave $1.49 receipt.  My legs killed me, I limped.  Hurt, itch now.  Jeremy has poisoned ivory!  We worked till 11:30pm.  Talked to Tom.  Gonna work this week, maybe next, 4 days (14-18 hours), maybe after school starts on weekends.  Anyway, got out to car around 12am, David B there.  Rushed off because we found out about him.  Dropped by Aaron's.  Talked.  He dropped me off at home around 1am.  Got $70 check.  Aaron S's back.  Contemplated "Phase It Out!" on way home from work.  Watched part of "Clash of the Titans" this morning!  Face started peeling.

"Phase It Out!" was a song idea about our experiences while working at Dairy Queen for our band, the Two-Tones.  It was never finished, but we did record a couple versions of a song we wrote called, "Dairy Queen."

Woke up, I did dishes.  We were packed/ready by 10:45am.  3-wheeler kid came over and said we have till 11pm.  Left anyway.  Grounds were so full!  I have sore, burned legs.  Darrin had sore, burned arms.  Jeremy's arms.  Harry ok, legs if anything.  Went to Meramec Caverns.  Jeremy and I went in with a french girl.  It was neat, except during music part with people behind us singing!  Came out.  Jeremy bought sword.  Went on to another store.  Harry got mad because Jeremy took so long.  Jeremy got axe, Darrin got coontail for antenna.  Left.  Went to Galaxy Fireworks.  Those 3 stocked up for Fireworks War II.  Went on.  Stopped at Burger King in Fenton, MO, by Wet Willies (gonna go but crowded).  Ate.  Wore crowns.  Met Gretchen.  Jeremy called JoAnn, said he wouldn't be in to work at 5pm, "car trouble."  Drove on home.  Dropped Harry off.  Dropped me off around 5:30pm.  Glad to be home.  Cleaned up my trash.  Got settled in.  Called Jeremy, gonna see movie.  Washed hair in sink, Darrin picked me up.  Went to Darrin's.  Mark came over, left.  Darrin's parents came home (from southern Missouri), White Water, Branson, etc. Jeremy came over.  Left in Jeremy's car.  Got tickets for "Big Top Pee Wee" at BAC Quad around 7:30pm.  Went to the Mall.  Went to Kay-Bee.  I got mad, there so long.  Went to Musicland twice.  Then went to Spencers.  Saw Dan and his girlfriend there.  Had ride by Hardees.  Asked girl the time - 8:45pm.  Ran to the car, drove fast to show, got there around 9:35pm (started at 9:20pm).  I was mad.  Saw it.  Would've been funnier if I was in a better mood.  It was okay.  Left there, went to Jeremy's.  His mom and dad packing for South Carolina (leaving tomorrow).  Glenda told us David B is "bad news."  Wants to rob us.  We decided we'd like to quit Dairy Queen this week.  It has ruined this summer, we're only kids, have plenty of time free (especially this week, Jeremy's parents gone!).  So, tomorrow I might tell Tom.  Came to my house.  Aaron showed up.  Talked.  I came in around midnight. Aaron left, Jeremy left.  Did this.  Gonna sleep!

Friday, July 29, 1988

Ate.  Stopped at lodge.  Went to Onondaga Cave.  Neat.  Took pictures.  Harry wrote postcards.  Drizzled.  Went home.  Asked about cave we found.  Called Fishing Springs.  Went home.  Ate.  Drove to place.  Walked in woods and water around "200 yards".  Mapped.  Took pictures of caves.  Jeremy and I spelunked.  Darrin and Harry played outside.  Saw bats.  When done, went home.  Went swimming at pool.  Went home, ate.  Watched church group move in (all but Harry, he did dishes).  By then, the campground was getting full.  Went up to lodge.  Went home.  Ate.  Went to bed around midnight.

On our canoe adventure the day before, we had discovered a cave.  When we were telling our story of discovery on this day, the person said it was a well-known cave and told us how to get to it by road.  So that's where we drove to, walked through woods and water, and explored the cave further. 

Thursday, July 28, 1988

Rode up to check-in buliding.  Went across highway (where we'd end up).  Left car.  Guy took us four and two canoes up to Indian Springs.  Saw 2 guys and a lady walking.  Started.  Jeremy and me, Harry and Darrin in canoes.  They had the cooler of food.  We had soda.  Harry tipped their canoe first bend.  Paddled.  Stopped couple of times.  Found natural spring with a cave.  Jeremy and I explored up until the light ended.  Ate dinner there (balogna and salami sandwiches).  Left there.  Asked deaf guy our location.  Silly.  Soon came up on rafters (in inner tubes).  Jeremy and I had around 10 junior high girls hanging on.  Darrin and Harry went on.  Came up to a thin, fast rapid.  Rested.  Swam.  Lost the girls.  Went on.  Found them.  Hung on again.  Went on.  Really got tired of canoeing.  Every once in a while we "bungied."  Got back.  Drove to cabin.  Showered.  Have really bad sunburn on legs, arms, face.  Went to Steelville and whole bunch of other towns.  Got ketchup at dumb store.  Got bored.  Came here.  Ate pizzas, watermelon, hotdogs.  Circused out.  Darrin went to bed around 8:30pm.  Jeremy, Harry and I went to game room.  They played pool.  Harry played Defender and Ms. Pacman.  Came home.  Went to bed.  Jeremy stayed up reading Mystic Places, smoking a pipe.  Harry called DeAnn.  Heard original "Hog" tape.  Harry came back.  Went to sleep.  Woke up and it was raining till 7:30am.  Now it's stopped.  I'm writing this.  We've all showered.  Looking at road map of USA.  Gonna do something today...

Wednesday, July 27, 1988

Up and ready by 8:30am.  Darrin came by around 8:30am.  Packed.  Went to Darrin's.  Loaded car.  Got ice.  I'm in calculus, worried about the test!  Can't concentrate, so I'll write later when I'm in... MISSOURI!

Gosh, Darrin!  Went to Jeremy's, packed.  Went home, Darrin picked Harry up.  They left around 10am.  Jeremy and I went to Brad's, looked for calculator in Jeremy's packed truck for Alton.  Studied 12-5pm.  Ate 1/4lb. cheeseburgers.  Mom picked us up.  Went home.  Jimmy, Grandma, Grandpa and Big Harry were there.  Dad drove.  Mom and Jill up front.  Jeremy, Jill and I in back.  Wreck in Freeburg.  They dropped us off at BAC.  We walked around.  Wrote in here a little.  Took test.  Don't know how I did.  Left around 9:25pm.  Walked.  Talked to Valerie.  Looked for Darrin's mom and dad.  Graduates of Calc I: Jeremy, Kimberly, Brad, Tina, me, John, Lisa, Karen, Karolyn, Michelle and Link.  Darrin's mom and dad brought Jeremy and me here.  Went thru St Louis, Eureka, by Six Flags, through Cuba, Steelville.  Stopped at Hardees in ?  Circus there!  Got there, hilly roads, by 12:30am.  Small cabin.  Darrin, George, Gwen, Jeremy, Harry and I slept.  Got up, cooked breakfast. 

It may be hard to tell from how it's written, but this was the day we left for our big canoe trip.  Harry and Darrin drove to Steelville, MO, and got our cabin.  Meanwhile, Jeremy and I had to take our final test for the Calculus class we took over the summer.  My parents took us to BAC, we took the test, then Darrin's parents picked us up and drove us to Steelville to meet up with Harry and Darrin (they were headed to Missouri anyway for their own little getaway).

Tuesday, July 26, 1988

Up and ready by 10:30am.  Did calculus till ?  Taped Alan Parsons Project and played backwards.  Jimmy and Jeremy came over.  Jeremy went to VBS.  I changed.  Went to Harry's.  Went to Jeremy's (in Jeremy's truck).  Ate there, etc.  Went to Darrin's.  He was looking for us.  Gathered at Jeremy's.  Went to bank in Darrin's car.  I withdrew $50, Jeremy withdrew $50, Harry withdrew $100.  Harry got $100 in travelers checks, Darrin got $100 TC, Jeremy and I got $100 TC together.  Dropped Harry off.  Went to Darrin's, picked Harry up around 1:30pm in Darrin's car.  Went to Mad Pricer (Swing Lo!).  Got around $34 worth of food:  spaghetti, canned/package soup, macaroni & cheese, two loaves of bread, hotdogs, balogna/salami, mashed potatoes, two 16" pizzas, lettuce, four 3-liter sodas, six gallons of Flavor-Aid, meat, chips, pretzels, two watermelons (one-toothed guy), box of corn flakes, guess that's all.  On way home, stopped by and got 2 watermelons.  Went to Darrin's.  Took food in.  Perishables in freezer.  They dropped me off around 3pm.  They went, packed.  Saw Nissa, etc. at dairy stand.  Saw Kevin L at Mad Pricer.  Got home, packed clothes, played guitar.  Dad, Jimmy, Grandma and Grandpa took Grandpa's truck to St Louis, doctor for Dad.  Mom called.  Jill and I rolled pennies ($5.75 worth).  Ate pizza.  Worked (drove) 4:30-10:30pm (close), Jeremy (7-10pm (supposed 6-10pm)).  Jeremy did drive-thru.  Got our lists done real fast.  Slow, steady business.  Vaccuumed.  New shelves at Dairy Queen.  We screamed in walk-in.  Dave came in.  Had people past 10pm.  Late close, out around 10:50pm.  Dave and Andi waited in lot.  Shawn took his tapes back.  Dave picked up his dad.  We all came to Marissa.  I passed Dave.  Also peeled out of Dairy Queen lot (got cheer from crowd).  Got to town, saw Darrin.  Darrin kissed Jerem'y arm.  Jeremy went home, Darrin, Dave and Andi came to my house.  Dave took Andi home.  Darrin and I talked to Mom and Dad.  Went to Jeremy's.  Jeremy, Dave, Darrin and I talked till 12:20am, Darrin brought me home.  Gonna get up at 8am tomorrow.  Almos spent night at Darrin's, but didn't.

Monday, July 25, 1988

Up, ready, Dad took me to work around 9:05pm.  Dairy Queen roof fixed today.  Worked 9:30am-1pm (open), Jeremy (11:30am-2pm), Brian (9:30am (grill open)-?).  Tom all day.  Slow, slow.  Mom picked me up at 1pm.  Drove to Wal-Mart.  Got disc film.  Drove home.  Grandpa here.  Gave him new raisin.  Mom cashed my check.  Mom and Dad went to doctor (for Dad).  Gave Harry baseball tickets for tonight (he and DeAnn).  Ate pizza.  Read GI Joe's.  Played guitar.  Jeremy called.  Came over.  Jill worked 6:30-8:30pm at Bonnie's.  Sun burn itched all day!  Goofed around here.  Mike came over.  Got dark out.  Sat outside talking.  Started raining.  Gave Mike towel to dry inside car off (no window driver's seat).  We went to Jeremy's.  It poured.  Darrin came over.  Cleaned out Jeremy's garage.  Went upstairs.  Poured real bad, like monsoon!  Ate for a while.  Mike left for BAC, Darrin left, Jeremy and I left in his truck.  Quit raining.  Underpass by Freeburg flooded.  Truck slid going into it.  Went by Terry's.  She worked.  Went to class.  Reviewed.  After class, went to Terry's.  Her cousins and all were there.  Went back in her room.  Met her cousin (Angie) and cousin's sister, I think.  Went to Hardees.  Silly!  Made frog out of ice cream cone.  Got 4 new raisins (Trumpy: me, family, Harry and DeAnn).  Went back to Terry's.  Finally left around 11:15pm.  Foggy.  Got to New Athens.  Turned toward park.  Went to the bathroom.  Came to Jeremy's.  Got Alan Parsons Project record.  Came home.  Wore camo hat around. 

Sunday, July 24, 1988

Shawn called around 10am.  Asked me to bring $70 for his ticket around 2pm.  Said, "Yeah."  Slept more.  Jeremy called around 11:15am.  Got up and ready.  Read GI Joe's off and on.  Went to Sparta, back around 12:30pm.  Ate.  Called Mark. He picked up big amp.  Went to Jeremy's around 1pm.  Darrin there learning how to hook luggage rack to his car.  Harry and DeAnn showed up.  Saw on patio with umbrella.  Jeremy and Aaron got back from Sparta getting MG batery, I think(?).  "Planned" trip.  Talked about school.  Harry, Darrin and DeAnn left around 2:30pm.  I got my arms sunburned in that hour.  Played D&D till 4:40pm (started X1).  Aaron took me home because Mona got car to go to Sparta.  Aaron and Jeremy cruised Marissa.  Got home.  Juanita and Jimmy here.  Changed.  Left.  Got there early.  Big crowd.  Started early.  Jamie left me in drive-thru mess (people yelling, etc).  Worked 5:30-10:30pm (close), Jeremy (7:30-10pm), Michelle (6-9pm (my buddy)), Brian (5:30-10:30pm (grill close)).  Didn't get much work done.  Made my own hotdog and 2 o-rings.  Then, right at closing, 3 girls came in to use pay phone.  Jeremy let them use restroom, too.  Rob came in couple o' times.  David came in.  Closed by 10:40pm.  Talked to David in bank lot till around 11pm.  Drove home.  Have small headache.  I'll read GI Joe, then go to sleep.

Saturday, July 23, 1988

Up and ready by 10:30am.  Wore Def Leppard shirt.  Called Jeremy around noon.  He had to paint deck.  So Darrin called.  Talked about trip.  Called Tim, he said he'd take me to Belleville (Silverspoons).  Sarah and Jill (Lisa left early to get perm) made Chef Boyardee pizza.  Jimmy came over.  Left around 1pm.  Got home around 2:20pm.  Hit all lights green.  Got Tales of GI Joe 3,4,5,6,7,9,10 for $6.  On way home, stopped by New Athens eye doctor, closed.  Gave Tim $2 gas money.  Got home.  Jill was somewhere.  Called Mark.  He was gonna pick am up, but didn't.  Mom came home from work.  I typed VL Form WD3.  Played guitar.  Fixed GI Joe comics.  Ate.  Mom washed Dairy Queen duds.  Jeremy called trying to get me to quit DQ.  Clothes got half dry, put them on, rushed to DQ (4-10:30pm), Jeremy (6-11pm (close)), Brian (5:30-11pm (grill close)), Jamie (7:30-9pm).  Made Dilly's.  Jeremy drive-thru.  Got list done.  After 9pm, slow.  We 3 made bad flavored Mistys: ketchup, pickle juice, chili, mayonnaise, peanut butter crunch, BBQ/mayonnaise/coconut/cherry juice and banana.  I gagged on the chili Misty.  Tom came in early.  Ron came in, said he'd work next week.  Told Tom.  After we got done closing, I got "frosty" and went out in park lot, Jeremy talked to Tom.  Talked with David, Bambi and Mike.  Honked horns.  Got bored.  Jeremy finally came out.  He gets to go too!  We are both off for VACATION!  Had to clean topping containers.  Anyway, Jeremy, David, Bambi, Mike and I went to Marissa.  I checked in at home.  Went to Jeremy's.  Jeremy (driving), David and I got in David's car, Bambi followed us to Darrin's.  He left note saying he was in Belleville with Mark, come over tomorrow around 12:30pm.  We (I drove) went to Aaron's.  Left Bambi in the dust.  Got to Aaron's, all lights off.  Went around house, Jeremy climbed ladder to Aaron's window.  Aaron came out.  We all talked.  Aaron got haircut, birthday the 20th.  Bambi and Mike left.  We talked till around 1:30am (time I was supposed to be home).  Jeremy drove us home (to his house).  Got in my car, David S came home.  Jeremy's mom in truck was coming home, so Dave and I split.  Jeremy and Dave S ran in house.  She stopped me, she'd been to Darrin's and my house looking for him.  Got home.  Mom was in bed.  Thought I'd be in trouble.  She just came down around 1:57am, asked me what time I got home.  Long, eh?

Friday, July 22, 1988

Tom woke me around 10:15am asking what days I want off next week.  Jill babysitting tlil 1pm.  Saw Penn & Teller video.  Played guitar.  Tried to make "Porhomania."  Talked to Harry (saw "Bambi" today).  Talked to Tim.  Jeremy called.  He ran a mile.  He came over.  We did test 31a.  Didn't lift, but was successful.  Came home.  Jimmy, Grandma and Grandpa here.  Read my journal.  He went home, we both changed.  I picked him up at 3:30pm.  Worked (4-11pm (close)), Jeremy (4-10pm (supposed 10:30pm)), Jo (4-11pm (grill close)), Shawn (7-8:30pm (supposed 9pm)).  Jeremy busy on drive-thru all night.  David came in around 10pm.  He and Jeremy talked in the lot.  After work, we talked, Jeremy and I went to Rita's.  Tom showed up.  I talked to Rita on front porch, Jeremy to Tom in truck.  They might be able to let Jeremy go.  But if they don't let him, he's quitting, meaning I'll have to stay, meaning either DQ or trip!  Came home.  Checked in.  Went to Jeremy's.  Talked outside with David.  Rachel C fell out window, talked to us.  Jeremy, David and I talked about DQ problem.  Came home around 1:40am.  Lisa and Sarah A spending night.  Borrowed Jeremy's typewriter.

Didn't work!  Up and ready by noon.  Nice dreams last night.  Jeremy worked 9:30am-4pm.  Listed all comics on paper.  Have around 2000 comics.  Played guitar.  2 Kleenexes mysteriously appeared on my stereo last night.  Jimmy came over.  He and I sat outside (nice) talking.  Grandma and Grandpa came, left.  Jimmy went home.  Harry, Harry and DeAnn went to see "Roger Rabbit," Jimmy stayed here.  Jill talked to Sarah A on phone, then went over there.  Jeremy came by in car.  We went to Army Surplus.  He got $59.50 samurai sword.  Went to Silver Spoons.  Gonna go there Saturday during sale to get GI Joes.  Went to class.  Okay night.  Left.  Went to Wendy's.  Went to Super American gas station.  Oh, ate chalk in calculus.  On way home acted "circus."  Got home.  Swung sword around outside.  Guess that's all.  Oh, saw guy in dumb, dumb, dumb boy scout suit.

Up, ready, Dad took me to work around 9:05am.  Stopped by Handee Mart.  Rained till 11:30am.  Mom drove.  Worked 9:30am-12:30pm (supposed 1:30pm but slow), Michelle (9:30am-12:30pm (late)), Jo (12:30pm-?).  Had all my work done by 10:30am.  Had 2 customers before 11am (one Ethel).  Very slow.  Tom let me go at 12:40pm.  Ate.  Called Mom.  She picked me up around 1:10pm.  I dropped her off at work, came home.  Dad and Jimmy trimmed bushes.  Grandpa kind of sick.  Played guitar.  Fell asleep listening to Whoopi Goldberg.  Jeremy went to Belleville with Terry.  Saw new Dirty Harry movie.  Saw sword, too.  I watched TV.  Went to BAC around 5:25pm.  Loaned Mom $20.  Went by post office.  Waited in BAC lot till 6:15pm, Jeremy showed.  Listened to Cheech & Chong and Beatles.  Saw new truck, cool!  They took it to show, "Big."  In class, we played computer and had "toys" (3-D figures).  13 in class today (Mike gone).  Jeremy and I went to McDonald's afterwards.  I spent all my money (borrowed $.37 from Jeremy).  Came home.  Jeremy came over.  Have old truck again.  Jeremy left.  Watched TV.  Going to bed.

Up and ready by 11:30am.  Started drawing Kool Party's castle floorplans.  Dad went to doctor today with Mom.  Mom drove to work.  Jeremy called.  Shawn called.  Played guitar.  Ate pizza.  Shawn came over around 1:15pm while I talked to Darrin about trip.  Jeremy and Harry came over to talk to Dad about Caddy.  Everyone tells Jeremy "No."  Jeremy took Harry home.  Came back.  We three rode to Mrs. Dodson's to give her evalutaion for Jeremy.  Talked for a while.  Went by Mr. Lewis' house.  Fred's painting a car red (Matt's).  Fred rode over to Caddy with us.  Shawn and I were hot, bored.  Jeremy dropped me and Shawn off here while he and Mr. Lewis looked for Caddy owner.  $225.  Shawn and I watched Flintstones, drank tea/soda, played trains.  He loved them.  Grandma and Grandpa came over to take me to work.  I rode with Shawn.  Ate over there on break with Shawn.  Worked 4:30-10:30pm (close), JoAnn (?-6:30pm), Michelle (6:30-10:30pm (close grill)), Jeremy (6-10pm).  Poured.  Slow business.  One rush!  Lady brought back 6 Dilly's.  I handled the situation.  I was boss.  I was drive-thru.  Saw Billi (Darrin's sister-in-law), Michelle C.  Pretty busy I guess.  Overflowed ice cream thing at close.  Talked to Tom and Rita.  Jeremy drove us home.  Talked to Mom a little.  Got GI Joe #80.  Also saw Jerid W at Dairy Queen.  Guess that's all.

Monday, July 18, 1988

Up and ready to go by 9am.  Really tired!  Drove to work (9:30-11am), Jeremy (11am-2pm), Brian (9:30am-? (grill)).  Tom in bad mood.  Jeremy did windows.  Rained a little.  Had small headache.  Slow, Jeremy off at 1:30pm.  Ate there, came home.  Didn't do calculus.  Played guitar.  Jill at Amy's.  Grandpa and Jimmy here.  They all went to Harry's in T-bird.  Watched TV.  Fell asleep on bean bag.  Dad called, then Jeremy.  Went to Jeremy's around 4pm.  Read new OMNI.  Went to Schraedors', then picked David S up to show him "Jeremy's" Cadillac.  Took Dave home.  Listened to "Freedom Rock" all day.  Now Cheech & Chong.  Drove to BAC.  Rained a little in Freeburg.  Got in class by 5:55pm.  No one there, everyone showed up late.  Valerie is in plane (hurricanes).  Got tests back.  I got a "B".  So did Jeremy.  Went to Hardees.  Got 4 new raisins (rollerskater):  Waves Weaver, F.F. Strings, Rollin' Rollo, Trumpy Tru-Note, S.B. Stuntz and Captain Toons.  Came home.  Talked about Jeremy quitting Dairy Queen.  Came home.  Talked to Mom for a while.  Gonna watch TV a little.  Got to bed.

Up and ready by 11:45am.  Called Darrin about trip.  Shawn called around noon.  Talked to Trina.  Ate family Sunday dinner.  Mom went to church (communion).  Played guitar, did a little calculus.  Cleaned room pretty good.  Hot!  Lisa came over.  Jill and Lisa went bowling with Harry, DeAnn, etc, but closed, came home.  Battery dead in car (I think from the dome light).  Mom and Dad bought a new battery.  Dad put it in.  Shawn here 2:45-3:30pm.  Played guitar, computer.  Taped a few Beatles.  He left lots of tapes for me to tape.  Drove to work (4:30-8:30pm (supposed to be 9pm but slow)), Jeremy (7:30-10pm), Shawn (5:30-10:30pm), Michelle (5:30-10:30pm (grill)).  Not real busy.  Listened to Zeppelin all night.  Stormed.  I was buddy to Shawn in drive-thru.  Shawn set Jeremy up with a girl.  Ate hotdog, 2 o-rings, 32 oz raspberry Misty, 32 oz Butterfinger/chocolate Blizzard, chocolate/cherry whipped cream sundae, 32 oz of ice.  Went to Clark (David) 9:30-10pm.  Back to Dairy Queen.  Watched close.  Jeremy asked Tom for days off (trip).  Tom said, "No," then "maybe."  David waited for us in lot.  Went to McDonald's.  Bugged lady at counter.  Dave bought me small fries and Jeremy a hamburger.  Talked in lot.  Went to Jeremy's.  Saw Jeremy's caddy.  Talked in Jeremy's room till 1am.  Came home.  Got in trouble.  Called Darrin about trip.  Going to bed now.  

Saturday, July 16, 1988

Grandma called around 8am.  Woke me up, looking for Dad.  Doolittle garage sale again.  Sold old moped and 80 motorcycle ($25 each).  Woke up at 10:12am.  Aaron came by around 10:45am.  Went to Jeremy's.  He was showering.  Mom and Jill went to orthodontist in Granite.  Played D&D.  Finished B4 forever!  Shawn came over.  Went to Handee Mart with him.  I got Milk Duds.  Went back to Jeremy's.  Ate a little.  Played pool.  Jeremy got in trouble.  Left around 3pm, so did Shawn.  Aaron and I came here.  Finished figuring D&D.  He left.  Grandma and Grandpa came over, so did Jimmy.  Mom and Jill came home.  Grandma, Grandpa and Jimmy left.  Family had Marco's fish, but me (chicken sandwich).  Asked Dad about trip.  He said, "Yes."  On way to work, stopped by Juanita's to drop off star I drew.  Saw Harry's senior pictures.  Good.  Got "High-N-Dry" today, listened to it in car.  Drove to work (5-10:30pm (helped close)), Jeremy (3:30-9pm), JoAnn (?-6:0pm (grill)), Brian (6:30-11pm (close grill)), Shawn (7-11pm (close)).  Wore Hawaiian duds again.  Had headache all evening.  Brian was quiet today.  Got $.62 tip.  Tom didn't show at night, so Brian went home.  Shawn, Brian (deaf) and I went to McDonald's.  Dan was working.  Saw some girls come in talking to Shawn.  Val V came into Dairy Queen.  Got home around 12am.  Called Jeremy.  Talked till 1am.  Came in here.  Gonna go to sleep now.

Friday, July 15, 1988

Up and ready by 11/11:30am.  Dad picked truck out at Riess, getting it Tuesday.  Grandma and Grandpa got Hagler's food for us.  Played guitar, trains (new lock), built Shuttle II booster, went to Darrin's (12:30-1:30pm (he worked 2-6pm)), talked about Meramec trip, hot!  Over 105 degrees.  Jeremy worked 9am-4pm.  Drove to work around 3:55pm.  Wore clothes, took Dairy Queen clothes and Hawaiian clothes.  Got there.  Sidewalk sale in Sparta.  Also fair (demo derby tonight).  Everyone wore Hawaiian shirts and shorts.  Jo (4-11pm grill close), me (4:30-11pm), Rob (4-9pm), Jamie (?-10:30pm).  I did drive-thru.  Hot!  A girl applied.  Saw Deanna R.  Jamie and Rob made big messes.  Real busy.  Got ice cream cone (large) as I left.  Asked Tom for 27th-30th off.  Said, "Yeah."  Out by 11pm.  Came home.  Talked to Mom.  Jeremy called.  Went over there.  Darrin and Aaron there.  Talked outside for a while.  Went in.  Left at 12:30am.  Rachel C and Barbie H talking to David S on front porch.  Gonna play D&D tomorrow.  Got check for $76 today.  Found $1 bill.
